We are having a musical party to launch the new project - Let's Play! at the River Folk Festival in Warburton this weekend.
Here at Woody’s World HQ we've been busy. It's been over 1900 days since we released our debut album ‘Good Morning Kids’ for Christmas 2013. Since then we have criss-crossed the land, playing hundreds of shows, and presenting dozens of workshops to 10,000’s of kids and families. It has been the best job in the world and wonderful memories to share with my kids who have come along for the ride!
Let’s Play! has been five years in the making. We have run a Pozible Campaign to start the recording and received funding from Creative Victoria to finish it. Some of Melbourne best musicians have played and arranged on the record, which has been tracked in five studios across the state. Tali and Jayda have co-written songs, and Safin has joined them for vocals on some tracks.
“We are so excited to be launching this project in our home town of Warby. I will be joined by my kids, local and Melbourne based musicians, plus a menagerie of young ukulele players who will flood the stage. This is our community and the place that inspired many of the themes on the album - music, adventure, natural play. Plus ofcourse, my own childhood growing up in the Adelaide hills as a free-range kid ”.
