About Woody and Woody’s Ukulele School

Woody is in high demand as a children’s performer and music education consultant and ukulele teacher. He has taught over 4000 students, children and parents to learn the ukulele. In 2019 he collaborated with the Song Room and Regional Arts Victoria and has travelled around Australia with his Mobile Ukulele School.

Woody is an ambassador for family music and regularly performs with his family band (Woody’s kids and parents). He has nurtured music in his own children and his daughter Jayda, won the ACMF National Songwriting Competition in 2018.

Woody has released two studio album for children - Good Morning Kids (2014) and Let’s Play! (2019). He regularly tours with his live shows and Mobile Ukulele School. Find out more here.

Woody is a qualified Victoria School Teacher, Outdoor Education Leader. He love music, the outdoors, sport and spending time with family and friends.

Woody explains that ukuleles bring out the innocent joy in all of us, “All kids can be music makers. I love teaching children some basic chords and incorporating them into the show.”

Ukuleles, music and family have always been a symbolic focus for Woody, “It’s so refreshing seeing kids and families creating music together. Anyone can play a uke – it’s such an easy way for everyone to access music and learn some simple rhythm and melody.”

Exceptionally engaging and highly entertaining, Woody’s World is good old-fashioned fun – it’s a kaleidoscope of music and colour that blends doses of Dr Seuss and chunks of the Muppets with a taste of Woodstock.

Woody’s children, Tali, Jayda and Safin, have co-written and performed some of the songs featured in Let’s Play! and also form part of the touring Woody’s World Family Band.

Original new songs featured on Let’s Play! include the catchy ditty Uke Uke Uke, the dazzlingly tune called Starlight and the fun harmonies: Play All Day and The Party Song.

For over five years touring Australia with his band and mobile ukulele school, Woody is a music education consultation who has performed concerts and shows to more than 25,000 children at major festivals, events, schools and remote communities.
