More about WOODY
Woody is a Victorian based musician, performer and teacher. Woody has taught in the classroom, in music education and in the outdoor setting for more than 15 years. Woody has coordinated various musical projects with his students, the most notable being the reKINDle Project which was a collaboration with fire effected schools and communities following the Black Saturday Fires in 2009. This project involved 400 students and collaborations with prominent musicians including Kutcha Edwards.
In 2014 Woody released his debut project: Good Morning Kids CD, DVD and live show. The Good Morning Kids Show have been presented at major festivals and events around Australia, including: Adelaide Fringe Festival and Festival Centre, Melbourne Cabaret Festival and Recital Centre, Port Fairy Cygnet and National Folk Festivals, National, and the Spiegeltent.
Woody’s experiences touring with his family as a child, teaching in the classroom and raising his own musical kids, gives his music a sense of fun, adventure and authenticity that is hard to find in children’s music. Inspired by the wonders of a healthy childhood, his debut Good Morning Kids is a delightful collection of 17 songs that speaks of the generous experience that this world offers. Woody performs with his family band (3 generations!), friend and puppets, including 'Hercules the Alley Cat' - a famous puppet that undermines him on stage! He also runs Woody's Ukulele School and is developing new material for his Ukulele Kids Project to be released in 2018.
When his is not performing Woody enjoys early walks along the Yarra River, kiching the ball on the soccerfield, cooking and of course playing music with his family.
