Autumn Update

Well Folks,

It’s been a busy few months since the CD Launch in December. Good Morning Kids has been the sound of the summer holidays for many families. Some parents are grateful for the music for long car trips or a little peace in the morning; others have had to ban the album from the airwaves. .

Perhaps the highlight of term 1 was our recent tour to North East Victoria. We played at three country schools and did a house concert with our good friends Kat and Matt. Everyone was so welcoming and appreciative that we made the effort to visit some out-of-the-way places. We received cards and home grown produce from parents and teachers. We have decided we all love the North East.

As the thunder and lightning raged outside we were inspired to do a spontaneous version of Storm We dimmed the lights and all the kids at the house concert tapped on the floor as Tali sang the first verse. They didn’t need much encouragement to stamp their feet and making a racket as the song climaxed…

It just goes to show, if you’re too rigid with your material or you’re too busy to sense the atmosphere, you can lose those special moments that do not come around too often. Storm was one of these.

What is coming up in Woodys World you ask?

We have a few kids’ parties in the holidays and a slot at the Ecotopia Festival. We are also excited about the Warburton Harmony Festival in May. Preparations for a Bush Mob at Harmony are coming along nicely but we are not giving anything away now – it’s a surprise.

Nic and I are about to launch our Pozible Campaign to raise funds for a Hercules Puppet. This should be ready by the end of the week so keep an eye out people. There will be some great rewards for those who help bring Hercules to life. Hamish Fletcher is the man for the job and I can’t wait to see what he creates.

We are also finalising local school shows for next term, shows in SA and a tour to the Mornington Peninsula. Exciting things are afoot.

As the nights grow longer and the days shorten, this is the time to check the fire place, clean out the flue and get the firewood in order.

Best of luck with that folks. W.
